How To Quit Smoking. Stress Free!

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

As a huge contributor to lung cancer, smoking is one of the most deadly habits. With such high amounts of nicotine, cigarettes are very addicting and difficult to quit. However, even though it can be a hard habit to break, it is possible to stop smoking as many people have done so successfully. The benefits of quitting are undeniable. Throwing away that pack of smokes will not only decrease your risk of cancer, stroke and lung disease, it will also improve your overall quality of life.

After you have chosen to quit smoking, a great first step is setting a specific date to quit by. When choosing a date, make sure to keep it realistic, as you want to give yourself enough time to stop smoking gradually. Trying to quit too suddenly can actually be counterproductive. Depriving your body too much of the nicotine that it’s used to will actually cause withdrawal symptoms that have very serious harmful effects on your body. Therefore, it is very important to gradually reduce the amount of cigarettes per day before quitting entirely. When choosing a date to completely stop smoking by, choose another date prior to this to begin steadily reducing your cigarette intake. Doing this will actually increase your chances of success as it will give your body enough time to adjust to lower amounts of nicotine.

After you have set out dates for yourself, try writing out the reasons why you currently smoke and why you want to quit. People smoke for various reasons; some do it to seek relief from a tense situation, others to relieve anxiety. Figuring out the source of your smoking needs is extremely beneficial to changing them. You also want to emphasize to yourself why you want to quit. For many people, the pressure to quit put on by family members and friends is enough to drive them to throw away their smoking habits. Other people may need to quit due to health complications. Constantly reminding yourself of why you want to quit is a great motivator. Determining why you continue to smoke is also important, as it will allow you to recognize the source of your need to smoke and allow you to change it. Some people simply have a reliance on smoking while others do it because of peer pressure. Regardless of why you may smoke, try to remind yourself of the consequences of smoking. Reasoning positively with yourself daily and getting your family and friends to help encourage you will increase your chances of success.

Changing your regular daily activities so that smoking becomes more of an inconvenience is a great tactic that can be an excellent aid in quitting. Once you have begun decreasing the number of cigarettes each day, try doing little things to make smoking difficult. Try storing your cigarettes somewhere that you cannot get to easily. Keeping your cigarettes within arms reach makes it easy for you. Where as if you have to walk all the way out to your car to grab them, for example, the hassle will serve as a deterrent. Also try avoiding areas where it is easy to begin smoking. Try to sit in non-smoking sections of restaurants and continue to do this anywhere with a smoking or non-smoking option. Once smoking becomes an inconvenient activity, you will be less likely to continue doing it.

Although the urge to grab a cigarette will happen, it is important to know how to satisfy the craving by doing something else. Try keeping a bowl of hard candies easily available. Or for a healthier option, try nibbling on some fruits and vegetables. It is important to keep yourself busy, as this will help you avoid any urge to smoke.

Stop Smoking’ Tips You Must Heed For Success

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Once you are directed on what life has in store for you and on what you can do to make the best out of your life, then the ultimate way to quit smoking is with the aid of stop smoking tips. For an individual who has been constantly smoking for years, getting out of it is like dying. Therefore, it is quite natural for you to try out quitting the smoking habit reluctantly.

Even I have been frequently smoking for years. But one day I discovered a stop smoking tip and to my astonishment, it brought wonders for me and now I am very hopeful that it can work for other people with the habit I had. To say goodbye to your best nicotine friend who was very helpful in good and bad times will be quite hard for you. Your first step should be to tell all your family and friends that you are quitting smoking forever and you have set a quit smoking timeline. Honesty is the best policy, so be loyal to yourself and to your loved ones. The foolproof stop smoking tip is by avoiding it completely.

Whenever you make an attempt to stop smoking, your mind will give you all the wrong signals which will give you the cravings for a cigarette. You might have hallucinations that people around you are smoking and everything might look like a cigarette. But if you are determined, then nobody can stop you. Once your mind begins the tricks with you, you might land up smoking again. Keep in mind that you should not be a loser, your motivation level should not fall no matter what.

Talking with the non smoking groups and avoiding smoking friends and colleagues for some weeks will be beneficial. Once you follow the stop smoking tip, it will decrease the smoking urge. Even I have avoided and now it doesn’t matter to me whether any person smokes or not. Over the past three years I haven’t puffed a single cigarette.

Another stop smoking tip is to never abandon the motivation that was started when you made the decision to quit. If one does this, his smoking habit will shoot up again. As the nicotine strikes back on the body, it will demand a double dose which makes the condition worse. Therefore, never be disheartened in case of a failure from your first few attempts. Try and try until you reach your goal.

Once you have already made up your mind to stop the smoking forever, then the lifestyle changes will play a very essential role. Set a stop smoking timeline. Follow the stop smoking tips and plan ahead to succeed in your goals in order to make your life healthy again.

The Quit Smoking Timeline Used to Quit Smoking

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

Many chain smokers are not aware of the ill effects of smoking and I strongly advise them to quit this bad habit through the quit smoking timeline. Even I have been a chain smoker for years and I have nicely come out of this habit. In my college days, I wanted to try how it feels when a person smokes. I didn’t realize that I had formed the habit and was unable to come out of it.

I know it’s not easy to quit smoking. Even I was smoking for 15 years, and I could realize when it started affecting my health. Day by day I started feeling weaker and then I realized that it’s better to quit smoking for good. It was very difficult for me to stay away from smoking, but if you look at the same thing logically, it’s better late than never.

Quitting the puffing habit isn’t a speedy process. It is dependant on how many times you smoke and the duration of it. On this basis, the quit smoking timeline is set according to individual analysis.

The nicotine level in your system and the brain is a major factor in deciding the quit smoking timeline. If you are a regular smoker, you will need 4 days for nicotine to vanish from your system. After the end of each day, you will feel the withdrawal symptoms in your body.

It’s likely that you will feel odd in the first 24 hours and you will lose all the focus. During this time, feel good and think positive. On the next day, you would just want to smoke badly but you must be strong enough and you need to control your brain. Once you concentrate on the good things and follow a quit smoking timeline, even when you feel the urge to smoke, ignore the same as the system is focusing on chucking out the nicotine in your body.

You need to be very strong on the third day as your brain and body will start giving you the wrong signals. You will not like to eat or drink anything and everything will be tasteless. But then again, if the quit smoking timeline is religiously followed, you will get rid of this bad smoking habit. On the last day, you are likely to feel constipated and also might cough a lot. But don’t worry because in no time, smoking will become a history for you.

Once the four day period of the Quit smoking timeline is over, your fifth day is going to be great. Cough will reduce and you’ll start enjoying the food. Your mind and body is feeling better and is enjoying that it’s out of the problem. One can also go for some quit smoking products and the quit smoking help in order to deal with the smoking situation and get the benefits of a smoke free body.

Once you finish a week, you will feel better and better. The positive signs will include sweet cravings and your teeth will also look whiter. Coughing might continue for some time, but later, all these symptoms will disappear. In just a few months, things will be normal again. Once these things happen, your quit smoking timeline is successfully achieved.

Smoking Cessation Laser Therapy – Is It Effective And Safe?

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

For a person who has been addicted to smoking, the toughest task that he may face is when he takes the resolution to quit smoking. So are you aware on what happens when you quit smoking? If you have almost taken up the choice to give up smoking, the one thing which you need to understand is that there are symptoms attached to it and you have to be aware of these symptoms if you are serious enough about it.

The way the acupuncture is done in our body, the laser treatment is done on similar lines. Low level laser is given in the areas of acupuncture. The result will be stimulation of the nerves and that will produce endorphins. This will further reduce the cravings for the nicotine and therefore makes a great stress reliever. Many developed countries have accepted the laser therapy and the same have been successfully put into practice. With the stimulation of the points, the actual nicotine urge is removed from the body. One can also find too much of relief in the withdrawal symptoms. Is the smoking cessation laser therapy actually worth it?

In the medical world, there are symptoms related to what happens when you quit smoking. These symptoms are termed as withdrawal symptoms and are synonymous with anyone who had decided to give quit smoking a try. Well, these side-effects can be both good and bad as well. The negative symptoms include ulcers in mouth, severe headaches and giddiness, and unable to concentrate for a longer duration of time.

Also, such companies have never done any kind of analysis of the laser and therefore people are not aware whether the theory is successful or a complete failure. Another problem area is the follow up procedure. Once the treatment is done, the companies do not bother about the follow ups at all. So, whether the smoking cessation laser therapy has guaranteed results or not, the laser treatment is still under the scanner.

Now since you aware of what happens when you quit smoking, it’s advisable that you continue it for the better. Learn to be in a positive state of mind, for the well-being of the body. The bad phase remains only for some days and then returns to normal with a healthy body. Your teeth stains vanish and the smoking stink that emanates from you also goes off. Apart from these things, the important thing is that all the diseases pertaining to smoking gets milder in comparison for example, there is reduced risk in heart strokes, blood cancer and lung cancer.

Nothing can be gained, without giving in more. Same is the case in here. The advantages of leaving smoking are forever and can be visible in the way the body responds to a nicotine free atmosphere. In fact, the piece of advice which I would like to give every smoker is to keep a quit smoking timeline and adhere to it. To quit smoking is the best way to remain healthy, fit and fine and this is what happens when you quit smoking.

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

Due to the low success ratio of cold turkey method, there are emerging varieties of quit smoking products in the market. Too many individuals are ignorant of the fact that such kinds of products are available. So, here’s all the information in this article about the quit smoking products to help decide which ones to opt for.

Quitters replace the cigarette with nicotine gums as an effort to quit puffing. One can buy the gum with different power and strengths of nicotine and this will not only suppress the nicotine impulse but also brightens teeth and gives fresh breath. This is basically a 9-day process and one needs to gradually reduce the chewing gum strength and quantity.

The second option for you to consider while purchasing the quit smoking products is the orange juice or the mouth wash. So anytime you get the cravings, you can go for a mouthwash or an orange juice. These liquids are very acidic in nature and therefore it is a perfect deterrent in case if you take a puff, as the same will taste very unpleasant.

Nicotine inhalers are also a great replacement and many people like the idea of nicotine inhalers. The main reason is that they get mental satisfaction when they smoke and are therefore not in a position to part with the inhaling and exhaling process of the smoke. The urge of the nicotine getting inhaled inside the body is done by the nicotine inhalers. Also, the habit of hand to mouth is also similar in case of inhalers and therefore it’s a helpful tool in gradually removing the nicotine from the body.

Even the quit smoking products in the form of patches also cut the use with time and then in the later stages, you hardly use nicotine in any form. Hypnosis therapy works well for a lot of people. It is the safest method. The hypnosis treatment can either be done by the doctor or if it’s not possible, there are also various hypnosis CDs, audio tapes and DVDs which will convince the smoker to quit smoking.

Even the books form a great source of inspiration and lots of people have benefited from them. The books provide you with information regarding smoking and adverse effects of it.
