Stop Smoking Program Just For You

Sunday, July 31st, 2011

A good stop smoking program? I know of people who move away from where they stayed because they are trying to stop the horrible habit of smoking. Although a few of them failed, I am actually impressed by the amount of successes that were recorded at that. Yes, lots of people succeed everyday to stop smoking. It makes me know that a change of environment is healthy for someone trying to quit smoking. Who knows? It might be what you need.

Addiction to smoking could actually be addiction to the small high that the substances in cigarettes give to you. Stopping therefore could mean that you need to find another way to get your adrenalin fixes. Speak to a doctor about that possibility; it might be helpful.

Some people chew on nicotine gum as part of their stop smoking program to help them stop their nasty and harmful smoking habit. If you are one of such people, it is good that you are no longer inhaling all that smoke at this time, but you are still poisoning your body by the presence of nicotine. My friend would say, ‘flee all appearance of evil,’ and I think that is apt advice for you when trying to stop smoking.

The irritability and the headaches will likely come shortly after you decide that you want to quit smoking and use a stop smoking program. They are withdrawal symptoms from the nicotine in the cigarettes. However, with some aspirin you can beat the headaches, and with some activity you can beat the irritation. It is tough going, but you can beat the addiction. But of course – seek your doctor’s advice on the best way to deal with these withdrawal symptoms.

The thing about addictions is that they are not only in your body, but in your mind also. Breaking an addiction, especially to a substance like nicotine, you have to attack it both physically and psychologically. Any stop smoking program short of that, and you’d only be wasting your time.

You cannot stop smoking simply by declaring that you have stopped smoking. A lot of Americans make that mistake and stay stuck with the habit. Don’t get me wrong; the positive confession helps. But you have to do much more, like actually following a stop smoking program and keeping away from the things that make you want to smoke.

Different approaches work for different people, but I am certain that there is no hard and fast rule to quitting the cigarette. I think what you need to do is to keep trying all the techniques that present themselves to you. As you do them all, you will learn the ones that don’t help and finally find the one that does help.

There are many things that can contribute to your stop smoking program. You can try sucking on ice, chewing gum, watching TV, doing stuff you love, but the best it to talk to someone who went through it. Nothing beats good old fashioned wisdom.

The world will not be the same when you stop smoking now. It will be a better place for you and your family. Stop smoking today.

Why A Stop Smoking Program

Monday, June 20th, 2011

If you really want to stop smoking, all you need to do is find a substitute to it. I know of folks who picked up caffeine instead, or nicotine gum as their own unique stop smoking program. These measures have been known to help rather well for a lot of Americans because they now have something else to occupy their minds and time with. It can help you too.

Smoking can be the most difficult habit to break because it is so addictive, but people all over the United States and other parts of the world have done it, and many more are still quitting the bad habit, thus proving that you can do it also. And if every attempt that you make fails, why don’t you see a shrink to help you. You’d be surprised how much progress you can make in just a few sessions.

If for nothing else besides that horrid smell that gives people headaches, you need to stop smoking. If you think it’s hard, just focus on all those secondary smokers around you that you could be saving from cancer and use that as an alternative stop smoking program. That should help. Of course, you are causing non smokers a great deal of harm when smoking in their midst… didn’t you know that?

If your life is on the line, you would have no trouble stopping the nicotine. If you think you cannot ever quit, just wait until you get that doctor’s report telling you your next drag might be your last. I have seen more than a few people stop smoking at that life turning moment – when the doctor painted them the gloomy picture.

Even if only for the physical disfiguration that comes from smoking, you should really quit the bad habit. One stop smoking program that I know of is ice – yes, regular ice or ice water. Drink or suck on it when you feel the urge, and people say that it drives the craving away. It is one option you can explore in your attempt to stop smoking.

When I was trying to stop smoking, I tried the ice water trick, but it didn’t work. I even spoke with a shrink, and for a few weeks I thought I was free, but I was back to the smoking habit as soon as I had a rough time at work. But when my dad died, I don’t know what it was but I could not bring myself to continue smoking, especially when I knew he didn’t like my smoking habit. That really became a stop smoking program for me.

You cannot give up on an idea for quitting on smoking before you try it out. Even if the stop smoking program looks like it might not work for you, the least you can do is to confirm that suspicion to be true by trying. If nothing else, you will know one less way by which you may quit smoking. The more ways you try, the more likely you will find that one way that will work 100% to help you quit smoking.

How to quit smoking will always be a question that will linger in your mind. You can try a stop smoking program or think about how your next puff might be your last or whatever so just try! Don’t let anything stop you from trying if you sincerely want to stop. Everything starts when you actually choose to take action. Just do it one step at a time.
